Save subtitles while watching movies, videos will help you easily find your favorite subtitles, practice listening, speaking, and writing with those sentences more conveniently. Therefore, eJOY has added a new feature to help you:

  • Know how to save video subtitles
  • Display all video subtitles

1. How to save subtitles on eJOY Extension

Step 1: First, make sure that you have downloaded the eJOY Extension add-on. If you haven't, you can access the link here, then click the "Add to Chrome" button and select "Add extension".

Step 2: Open the video you want on YouTube, Coursera, Udemy,... And make sure that you have enabled subtitles for that video.

Step 3: Click the plus sign at the subtitle you want to save.

Step 4: This sentence will be saved to the most recently saved wordbook. A save notification will appear for a few seconds. If you want to change the wordbook to save to, select Change and change to a different wordbook.

After that, you can check your wordbook in eJOY extension, eJOY web, or eJOY app. The subtitles you saved will be automatically synced up after a few seconds.

2. Displaying all video subtitles

  • There are 2 ways to display all video subtitles:

Method 1: Click the arrow icon in the bottom left corner of the video as shown below. (When you save subtitles, there will be a circular effect flying next to that arrow so that you can easily identify it.)

Method 2: Select the eJOY icon --> Select View subtitles

In the Transcript section, there are 3 display modes as follows:

(1) Display as split. Here, you can click the plus sign after each sentence to save the sentence to your vocabulary notebook.

(2) Display as overflow. Here, you can easily highlight phrases, sentences, or even entire paragraphs.

(3) Display only the sentences you have saved. You can also see the timestamp of each sentence for easy review.

  • Similar to the regular Transcript, if you use AI transcript, you will also be supported with these features. For more information about AI subtitles, please refer here.
